To optimize building your list of potential subscribers or customers you need to ensure your landing page is effective.

So, ask yourself - Is your landing page effective? Obviously, “effective” is relative to what your objectives are for the page, but as a rule, you are hoping to either sell your product or service, or capture details such as name and email address in order to build your list of leads.

Also referred to as the “name squeeze page” or “lead capture page”, you can build your database or mailing list by funneling all of your prospective subscribers from your marketing efforts in to your website via a landing page.

When someone visits your website and leaves, chances are that he or she will not come back, especially if there are no compelling reasons to do so. After all, we all behave rather impulsively on the Internet, and there is so much competition, that we can easily forget where we were 10 web pages ago.

So the bottom line is that your visitor may not come back to your website again. If 1,000 visitors visit your website, leave and never come back again, you can imagine the amount of potential revenue lost, simply because they do not return. Imagine instead if you could have converted a fraction of those visitors into your customers.

Some may say that creating unique content can keep some of the visitors coming back, but very often, unique content is not the solution. The real, long-term solution lies in converting your visitors into subscribers of your mailing list, and this becomes successful with an effective landing page.

Before your visitor leaves your website, you want to convert him or her into your subscriber via a simple opt-in to your mailing list. You do this by asking for your visitor’s name and email address through your opt-in form.

And should your visitor sign up to be on your mailing list, you will then be able to follow up via email, ezines and such and begin building a relationship and trust.

All in all, you want to convert as many visitors into subscribers as possible in order to be able to obtain the potential revenue in the future.

Following are tips to create an effective landing page that successfully converts a high percentage of visitors into subscribers.

Success Tip 1: Keep it simple. Let the visitor know who you are and how they can benefit by visiting your site. A photograph of yourself, an audio or a short video of introduction is effective as the majority of people searching for information on the internet today want to business with a real person.

Success Tip 2: While you are not necessarily making a hard sale or trying to get someone to buy your product upfront, being able to entice your visitors to give their details to you is just as important as selling. Be clear on what challenge or problem your prospect is experiencing (their pain), or what they want more of (their pleasure) and outline what’s in it for them.

Success Tip 3: As an incentive, offer a freebie in exchange for your visitor’s email address. I very much endorse this method of building your mailing list. You can offer a special report, audio or a sample of your paid product to your visitor in exchange for their details such as name and email address. The days are gone where many people are willing to leave their personal details just for a newsletter. As your goal is to capture details to enable you to follow up and build a relationship with your prospective customers, let them taste a sample of your expertise that contains great information. You should focus most of the attention of the text on encouraging your prospective visitor to download your free offer. Later, you gently remind your prospect that he or she has nothing to pay but just merely subscribe to your newsletter in exchange for the freebie.

Success Tip 4: Other than your opt-in form and perhaps important disclaimers and terms such as your Privacy Policy, there shouldn’t be any other links on your landing page which will either distract or confuse your visitor.

Success Tip 5: Have a clear “call to action”. Don’t assume they know what you want them to do, but rather tell the visitor what you want them to do, e.g. Fill in your details to have instant access to this free report to have you quickly (whatever the topic of your freebie is).

By using the above 5 top tips, you will build an effective landing page and your conversion rate will explode.

Where did the Dark go?

People who are able to move rapidly into higher and higher incomes develop a greater awareness of their personal world and what is being created in their personal world. Let me explain the difference between two important words that will assist you in using this lesson to your greatest advantage.

Consciousness vs. Awareness:

People who get stuck in their current reality even though they have a sound understanding of universal laws and personal and business creation principles are not as unconscious as many would think. It’s very easy for someone to put these people in a box and say “They are unconscious of what they are doing.” After working with many people who have had this “being-stuck-in-their-current-reality-problem,” I can tell you that most of them are very conscious of the situation!

Consciousness (or being conscious of what you are being, doing and creating) is a proactive & deliberate intention on the part of the creator. However, it is only the first step in the realization of just how powerful and magnificent you really are. Consciousness sees and understands duality, and it can also get stuck there, which is why you will commonly hear conscious people ask “HOW” to do something i.e. “How do I raise my income to a million?”

There is an intellectual understanding at this level and some conscious deliberate creation has been experienced, but that is as far as it goes. The Conscious Creator will then commonly look for another model to use to change their circumstance and more often than not discovers that it does not work for them the way they had expected. They are very conscious of this.

Understanding awareness is the magic key, so to speak, that dissolves the nature of your reality and allows you to move from one reality to another at will. Awareness itself and by itself is an experience. It’s not something you do, but it is what you are.

“Aware people” change their reality as they see fit. When they are done experiencing one reality they simply step into another one. Consciousness wants to know how first and then make changes and then experience. Awareness is all about stepping into the experience first then playing in that experience. To make this very simple, it’s much like turning on the lights in a dark room. When you flip the light switch, light fills the room - but where did the dark go? Seriously, where DID the dark go? In truth, it didn’t go anywhere - it’s still there all around you. If you don’t believe me just flip the light switch off and see what happens. You may want to do this several times & really think about what you are experiencing.

Now think about this a bit more in the dark room. You are conscious of the things in the room, but you still see problems because you can’t seem to navigate through the dark. When you flip the light switch, your reality changes INSTANTLY and now you can see what you couldn’t see before - even though you consciously knew things were there! Because of intellectual understanding, you couldn’t see the way. All you could do was attempt to navigate your way around, which is the process of consciously thinking about what you are doing first, THEN receiving feedback from your environment, and lastly reacting to what you PERCEIVE your experience to be. Yes, it’s a mouthful but just sit with it for a while…

Okay, now lets move into a making a Quantum Leap…

Many people would love to know HOW to increase their income and better their individual circumstances. The key to leapfrogging (and not stair-stepping ), is to ask, “By staying in my current situation, what purpose is this serving?.” You see, awareness turns on the light every place there is dark. Discover WHY you would resist stepping into a different reality - and by discover, I literally mean become aware of why (don’t just repeat back what you think) then everything begins to change. Awareness = Quantum leaps. Period. No awareness, no quantum leap.

Would you like to know where your light switch is? Then let me suggest that you attend one of my upcoming live events so I can guide you personally. Just send an email to events@davidneagle.com and one of my team will be in touch to help you decide which of my upcoming live coaching sessions is best for you.

Remember: the reality you want to experience is only a flick of the switch away from you, but you need to be aware of where the switch is.

Do you think that it’s possible to explode your business using social networking?

For some, the thought of signing up with social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter has them in a tailspin. Just having to open themselves up to the world is difficult, let alone having to find more time in their already busy day to chat with ‘useless gossip’. On top of that, there is also the idea of trying to come to grips with ‘how to’ work these social media sites effectively.

If your goal is to build relationships with others in your niche, and raise your visibility around the globe, then you really MUST begin actively being a part of social networking, particularly with the two major players, being Facebook and Twitter.

Yes, it is imperative to be active in social networking today, however be warned it can become addictive and chew up an awful lot of time. Once you master some of the steps, such as linking your sites to update concurrently, you’ll wonder why you didn’t begin social networking months ago.

Following are 3 tips to get you started:

1. To consistently be visible, allocate just a few minutes each morning, and again before you pack up for the evening.

2. Be interesting. Share messages that will both benefit others and raise your level of expertise within your niche.

3. Limit ’selling’ yourself, your products or services as the purpose is to build relationships.

Is Your Desire To Be A Successful Female Entrepreneur?

It may be your goal to be a successful female entrepreneur. I guess you’re fairly clear with what a female is, but what is your definition of success, and how would you define an Entrepreneur?

Entrepreneur has many meanings. If you want to know exactly what it means, just keep on reading.

A person who assumes business responsibility and the risks and rewards that go along with it is called an entrepreneur. As an entrepreneur, one expects to make profits, whether big or small, depending on the business he or she is involved in. Generally, the entrepreneur decides which product or service to offer, obtains the needed facilities, hires the required labour force, acquires production materials, and provides the capital required to set up and run the business.

There is no assurance that the business will become a success. However, if the business proves to be a success, the entrepreneur will reap all the benefits and rewards in terms of the profits. In case of a loss, the entrepreneur will also be the one to suffer.

Assuming business responsibilities is definitely not an easy task. Not many individuals are willing to take huge responsibilities, and most especially take all the risks. Only an experienced and knowledgeable individual will dare to become an entrepreneur. The goal of any business owner or entrepreneur is make money and to ultimately earn profits.

Today, many women call themselves entrepreneurs because they are in business for themselves. However, unless they are really growing their business, earning profits, and seeking assistance with either staff or outsourcing, they are not really female entrepreneurs. I hate to say it, but they are simply - self employed. They have in fact bought themselves a job.

So, how can a woman become a successful entrepreneur?

As the most important person in her business venture, a female entrepreneur will be the one to decide which product or service to offer. She must be able to determine the problems and needs of the target market and provide the solution to such needs.

A careful study of the target market is required. This takes time and a lot of research because it is a huge mistake to just offer a product without being absolutely sure of a number of things.

1. Is a solution required or desired?
2. Can the market afford a solution?
3. Is there enough of them to sustain and create profits for the business?
4. Are they easy to be found or contacted?
5. Can you become an expert in this niche?

It is also necessary to research the competition.

1. Is there already competition?
2. What can you do differently?
3. Are you able to compete and capture enough of the market?
4. Determine your Unique Selling Proposition

Once the research has been done and products or services are identified, it is now time for you as the female entrepreneur to get down to setting up your business with the absolute best products or services to cater for this niched target market.

Do you have the capital to provide the solution? Where will you base your working office? Do you have the expertise to fulfill the requirements for the solutions you will provide? Do you have the technology?

If you want to become a successful entrepreneur, you have to work on concepts such as ROI or return on investment, compounding capital, economy of scale, speed of business returns, and many others.

You must also have the right attitude and qualities. You have to be hard working. You have to be willing to work many hours of the day or night especially if you’re a beginner.

Are you a risk taker? Most entrepreneurs are not afraid to take risks. This doesn’t mean that you enter the market with your eyes closed hoping for success. Entrepreneurs are willing to take risks especially if after a careful study they can see high chances of success.

Successful female entrepreneurs also need to be organised and know how to deal with different kinds of people. If you can build good will and you can win the trust of your customers and subscribers, your business will be much more likely to succeed.

If you have these qualities, then you’re on your way to becoming a success.

If the business succeeds or fails, it is all because of the characteristics of the female entrepreneur such as her mindset, expertise, determination, confidence, support, capital and more.

Now that you know what an successful female entrepreneur is, would you like to become one? Well, if you have the right attitude, skills, and qualifications, you too can become a successful woman in business.

It would be best to embark on a humble beginning. Don’t attempt to reach the peak of success all at once. It takes hard work, dedication, and perspiration.

Set your goals and intentions and take one step at a time. The majority of female entrepreneurs fast track their journey and experience less struggle and overwhelm by seeking the services of a coach to keep them on a direct path to their success.

In my opinion, failure should be deleted from all of the dictionaries today.

We are surrounded by people who, because of the economy, have lost money, have lost their jobs, are perhaps not as well off as they were 12 months ago, thinking they have failed.

Does the word failure bring up negative thoughts for you? Have you ever held back on doing something because you were afraid of failure? Don’t be afraid to admit, because most people have! Let’s face it; no one likes to fail. None of us likes to feel that we’re ineffective, weak or lacking in any way, and that’s exactly how failure makes us feel.

However, you may be surprised to know that failure doesn’t exist – until YOU say it does.

In the dictionary, failure has several definitions:

1) a failing to do or perform
2) a state of inability to perform a normal function adequately
3) a fracturing or giving way under stress
4) a lack of success.

Look carefully at those definitions and you’ll probably realise they have one thing in common when it comes to goal achievement: failure is a PERCEPTION.

If you believe you have failed, then perhaps you have. If you believe you don’t have the ability to succeed, then, sadly, you don’t. If you believe you can’t handle the pressure of achieving your goals, well you can’t. If you believe you’re not successful, then guess what? You aren’t.

What would you do, if you knew you couldn’t fail? How would that make a difference to the way you approached things from now on?

Failure only exists in your own mind! The moment you decide to give up or stop working toward your goals, failure is born.

But what if you never do that? What if you continue working toward your goals, one step at a time for as long as it takes? There’s no failure then, is there?

This insight should be very encouraging if you’ve been working toward goals and not yet seeing positive results. Simply keep going and you cannot fail!

Here are three tips to help you stay strong and focused on your goals:

1) Never give yourself an out. Most people do this without even realising it. They are willing to work hard on achieving their goals, until the going gets tough or their motivation dwindles. Don’t do that! Commit to making your goals happen, no matter what! Never quit, never contemplate admitting defeat, and never lose your inner determination.

2) Don’t get hooked on a specific timeframe for completion, but be flexible. It’s great to set a general timeline, but be aware that sometimes circumstances will be beyond your control, so you can’t say for sure when your goal will be achieved. If you’re too rigid, you’re just setting yourself up for failure! Instead, get a general idea of when you’d like your goal to be completed, but then take it a day at a time and focus on making progress, not reaching the finish line in as little time as possible.

3) Finally, be sure that you don’t view obstacles and setbacks as failures. The two are completely different. An obstacle, setback or delay means only one thing: it’s not time for your goal to be completed yet. That’s it! It doesn’t mean you failed; it doesn’t mean you’re weak; it doesn’t mean you’ll never achieve your goals. It simply means you’re not done yet. You’ve got to keep moving forward and find a way around or through the obstacle.

Remember that there is no such thing as failure - it simply doesn’t exist.

What do we have instead?

Feedback!

That’s right. We are simply being made aware that what we are doing, or how we are doing something isn’t working and we therefore need to try something different.

Sometimes it may be necessary to speak to a buddy, a mentor or someone to give you some support as you try to figure out the different route to take when those times get tough.

Always remember to replace your thoughts of failure with the seeds of feedback and you will always be successful.

Entrepreneurs Shape The Economy
Thursday, February 26th, 2009

The shape of the economy has been in a downturn for a while now, and no matter where we are, we hear, see and feel evidence of the strife being experienced by many.

President Obama gave a speech yesterday in the US and amongst his words were a couple of very important bits that I wanted to bring to your attention.

He said
“The day of reckoning has arrived” so what could that mean to us.

He then said
“The future of our economy relies on the imagination of entrepreneurs.”

Think about it. What could these words mean to you as a female entrepreneur?

Use your imagination and your creative abilities and you will find many ways to not only survive in this economy, but THRIVE! What can you do?

Any suggestions or comments on this powerful suggestion are welcome.

7 Tips To Ensure Your Emails Are Effective
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

How many of your emails actually get your message across effectively?

Let’s take a look at 7 Tips to Ensure Your Emails Are Effective so you get more out of your emails and build better relationships with your recipients.

As our inboxes become more deluged with messages, it is important to ensure you follow a few simple tips to ensure you continue building relationships with your people and don’t have them scrolling down to the unsubscribe link.

1. Be concise
Less definitely means more. Experts say any message of more than 100 lines is considered long and it will probably not be read in it’s entirety. Even with the advances in technology, with many having high speed internet and cable, there are still many users who continue to use dial up, and often the longer the message, the longer it takes to download. Avoid confusion for your recipient by focusing on one topic per email only, with a clear call to action from your message.

2. Use attachments with care
Used carefully, attachments can be a wonderful tool however it is important to remember that another program is usually required to open this attachment, eg Adobe Acrobat, a picture viewer or an audio program. Does the recipient have the necessary program? Another issue is that as we are often so busy, the thought of waiting for these programs to start so we can open the attachment puts us off, so we ‘couldn’t be bothered’ opening the attachment. Also be aware that some attachments with strange extensions have the potential to contain viruses.

3. Be careful when you send mail to multiple recipients
It is important to never lose the trust your customers have entrusted you. When sending mail to multiple recipients, make sure the content of your message is relevant to everyone. You don’t want to annoy some people because they have no interest in what you’re sending. The most important point in this category though, is to ensure you NEVER disclose all recipient addresses in your “To” field. Privacy laws are very strict, and if you don’t have a program that customises each mail to each individual, make sure you use the ‘bcc’ and insert you addresses in the blind copy field instead.

4. Take care when formatting
Not all email programs are simple, so keep the simplest format possible. Keep lines at no more than 63 characters in width as studies have shown the range of ‘eye-scanning’ allows readers to quickly recognise and absorb the content when kept within this width. Emails are more effective when sent in text as opposed to html as many email programs do not accept the latter.

5. Allow for recipients to unsubscribe
Always provide an unsubscribe link in your mails. When someone in your list files a request to be unsubscribed, always take that request seriously. If you don’t take them off your list and keep sending them your e-mails, you are now sending them spam mail.

You and your business can get into serious trouble if you are reported as a spammer. Not only may you be reported to the authorities but you will be blacklisted by many internet service providers resulting in the loss of subscribers and many more potential subscribers.

6. Provide great content
Providing information that is relevant for your recipients is crucial for your emails to be effective and to build your list of subscribers. This content should continue to build on the benefits of your services and why they should continue to receive your messages. Educate and inform your people, and avoid ’selling’.

7. Avoid ’shop talk’
While you do want to pass on informative content and establish your credibility, you do want to gain and maintain rapport, and continue building the relationship so avoid writing in jargon or too much professional talk.

A good e-mail to your people should provide great content and continue to build on why they should receive and keep reading your messages. Don’t look to be over eager or persuasive in pushing your offerings but instead, ensure your message entertains or educates as well as provides reason for them to want to receive more from you.

Follow the above 7 Tips To Ensure Your Emails Are Effective and not only will you have fewer unsubscribes, but you will be able to massively grow your list.

Follow these 7 tips and as a female entrepreneur, you will achieve success via social media.

Did you know that solo professionals and female business owners can be the best PR managers? By using social media and the power of the Internet as a distribution platform you can equate the results of even the best public relations agencies.

However, some of us are not ‘up to date’ with the latest strategies and as amateur marketers, may need some advice if we wish to understand some of the short-cuts to early success.

Following are 7 easy steps to return real PR and branding results using social media tools:

1. Where can you be found? Set-up your PR and Branding Platform. Start small and focused. This platform is going to be where you drive people to learn more about you, your business, your products and services. Pointing back to this central focal point with all of your PR and branding campaigns will assist lead generation.

If you are technically inclined a simple blog is a great place to start. However, it is not necessary - you can choose to make Facebook, MySpace, or LinkedIn your personal brand platform. Make sure a visitor is aware of you and your strategy as soon as they arrive at your platform.

2. Listen to your visitors. Once you have a base station, you need to start listening to your market. Consumers are all over the Internet and it has become easier to survey their needs.

Recently, a great place to start listening is on Twitter - the premiere social networking and conversation tool. Search for key words associated with your market in the Twitter search engine, follow those you see are interested in the same key words, then sit back and see what they expect.

3. Participate. Although listening is important, actively participating will build trust, relationships, and targeted audiences. Ultimately, any online PR and branding strategy online is community building.

Community building means conversations and conversations build audiences. Audiences that will trust your recommendations, marketing, and services. Participation in your community will create sales leads for your business, if done appropriately. The important thing to remember is to build a relationship before going straight in with your sales messages, which leads to the next tip.

4. Give Value First. Consumers are naturally skeptical, especially online. Nothing brings a sale faster than “giving first” and breaking that natural skepticism. Online publishing tools and platforms have made it easy to leverage the Internet for big-time audience generation and distribution.

Creating valuable content targeted at providing solutions for your ideal customer can make a big impact. This can be as simple as a blog post, special report, e-Book, or even an amateur video. This little effort and value given freely and distributed widely will bring enormous return.

5. Build Relationships. You have to show that you care! Consumers and customers see this in a heartbeat - and they react. Quickly returning emails, phone calls, and even tweets show a passion for your business and the customers you serve.

Often, the biggest advocates and promoters of your products and services are those customers that are greeted with a sense of urgency.

6. Be Helpful. Consumers are using the Internet more and more to find information and solutions to their problems. Being helpful is one the most powerful marketing tactics. The psychological principle of reciprocity can produce incredible returns on a simple helpful tip, pointer, or referral.

If you know the answer to a question - offer assistance. There are lots of ways to help online and build your brand. Some great places to check are LinkedIn Answers or Yahoo!Answers.

7. Promote others willingly. Having a successful PR and branding strategy is not all about you and by offering to promote others will quickly build your audience and reputation. This technique has two benefits: Getting the reciprocity of helping someone else with a campaign. Secondly, you get the attention and trust of those who follow your advice and gain value.

This strategy of promoting others is like doubling your product base and increasing your marketing reach.

If all the above seems too much, seek professional advice and guidance from PR and marketing professionals who can help you set firm footing and foundation under your idea. Then you can make do-it-yourself have real impact.

Female entrepreneurs and solo business owners are usually the best public relations talent for their own products and services as they know exactly what solutions they provide for their target audience.

Make use of the social media platforms today to ensure your message is heard around the globe. However, keep in mind you need to allocate time for using these platforms, and stick to it! They can become addictive so it is important that you don’t put aside important tasks just to chat and tweet.

Female entrepreneurs can achieve the success and recognition they desire by using the various social media platforms.

Female Entrepreneurs Create Passive Income Easily With Info Products

In today’s fast information packed world, one of the quickest and easiest ways for female entrepreneurs to create a passive income is by offering info products.

Why is this so?

It is a fact that people use the internet in the first place because they are searching for and are hungry for information. Everyone wants information on the fastest way to benefit them, solve their problem or ease their pain. They move from site to site eagerly looking for information and answers.

Having arrived at your site, your prospects are hoping to find the information they are searching for. But, they don’t know you and are often not willing to invest a substantial amount of money on the premise that you can help them. This is where you can begin to ’sell yourself’ to the prospect, show them how you can help them and this is where the lower end info products come into play.

Benefits of Info Products:

In most cases, people are willing to pay for information if it will give them the answers they are searching for.

One of the major benefits of offering info products is the opportunity to begin to create trust in the mind of your prospective customer or client. A sample of your expertise, your work and your solutions can be given in a lower end product.

Another major advantage of purchasing info products is that visitors to your site can begin using them instantly, particularly when these products are digital and available for immediate download.

Having received and enjoyed your initial connection with a free or inexpensive $7 report, you can begin establishing a relationship with your prospective customer via other marketing strategies such as autoresponders, e-zines, phone calls and mailouts.

As your relationship strengthens and trust is gained, the traditional marketing funnel begins as you market to these customers with higher priced items.

Most Important Benefit of Creating Info Products:

Let me stress the most important benefit for female entrepreneurs to create passive income with info products is Leverage. The fact that you will leverage your time - you do the work once - create the product once - and then sell it over and over again.

What better way to grow your business is there than using this strategy?

None! In fact, the more you become familiar with the processes of creating info products, the better and more tailored these products will be. Before long, you will have the resources to create the higher end info products such as home study courses.

The secret to success for creating passive income with info products is to make sure that the information you provide either saves your visitors time or benefits them in some other, emotional way.

Today’s tip for female entrepreneurs and women in business to easily create info products is to record everything. Record phone calls, interviews and consultations, film speaking engagements, etc.

Leverage your time and create info products easily as you go about your day and be rewarded with passive income that you can enjoy as female entrepreneurs and women in business.
